ABOUT ABOUT

The University of Wolverhampton’s 3rd annual Refurb BIM event will focus on the use of digital technologies to unlock brownfield sites. The event will consider how digital can improve the planning and implementation of the refurbishment of existing buildings and construction of new build on brownfield sites. The conference will be delivered in conjunction with the Brownfield Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC), an ERDF supported project delivered by the University.  As well as considering the use of digital technology in demonstrating how derelict buildings can be renovated and reused, the conference will investigate how GIS and BIM (Geo-BIM) data can be integrated to improve the planning and delivery of site remediation and construction. The conference will showcase how this data can be presented (virtual and augmented reality) to highlight opportunities for and improving the efficiency of construction and refurbishment activities on brownfield sites. The event demonstrate how digital technology can help deliver a seamless transition from remediation, to planning and refurbishment/ construction project implementation, then this is the event for you. The morning session will focus on feasibility planning and design and the afternoon on construction and implementation of digital technologies to help unlock brownfield sites.
