ABOUT ABOUT

When was the last time you considered your terms and conditions of supply? Do you still do business on a handshake? The small print can be very important especially when things go wrong - there's a problem with a product or a service or the customer isn't paying on time. It's not just about having the right terms and conditions in place but about ensuring they are actually part of your contract in the first place that is important.

If I had a £ for every time I was told:

“We downloaded our terms from the internet” or “We have used a customer’s terms”

The recent debacle with the government shipping contract where the provider’s terms included provision for pizza delivery is a prime example of how dangerous this can be.

If I had a £ for every time I was told:

“We don’t have any terms” or “The last time we looked at our terms was 20 years ago”

If I had a £ for every time I was told:

“We put our terms on the invoice”

I would be a very rich woman.

There are two important steps with your terms and conditions – 1. Making sure they are incorporated in to the contract in the first place and 2. Making sure they suit your business. Coming along to this presentation will give you the areas to think about so you can evaluate whether you need to make changes to your sales processes and whether your terms (if you have them) really provide you with the protection you need and whether with recent changes in the law you are being compliant with your legal obligations especially when it comes to selling to consumers.

The event is aimed at Business Owners, Sales Directors/Managers, Project Managers, Accounts Managers.

What will you gain from attending the event?

  • How to ensure you win the battle of the terms and conditions - ensure you are contracting on your terms.
  • The important terms you should include - are you fully protected?
  • The differences between contracting with a consumer and contracting with another business.
